Jackson Nealy Forehand was born September 16, 1882, in Texas, the 4th of 10 children born to Allen Forehand and Emma Witt.

On December 25, 1905, in Belleview, Texas (Clay County), Nealy married Melissie Alberta Fox, born in Texas on January 31, 1883, the daughter of Harburn Riley Fox and Elvira Grant. The 1920 Federal Census for Byars, Oklahoma (McClain County) shows Jackson N. Forehand, age 38, a miller, born in Texas. His wife, Malissa, was age 37, born in Texas. Living with them were six children, all born in Oklahoma: Oscar, age 13; Lois, age 11; Bertie, age 10; Donnie, age 8; George W., age 4 years 9 months; and Voncille, age 2 years 4 months. Nealy and Melissie ultimately would have one more child, a daughter named Leota.

Nealy died on January 3, 1957, in Purcell, Oklahoma (McClain County) and was buried in the Lexington Cemetery. Melissie died on March 12, 1960 and was buried beside her husband.
