(special thanks to David Peirce #47460027 for the following info) Francis Henry Garrison was the son of Thomas Garrison & Mary Margaret Maul. He was born 8 May 1837 in Pennsylvania. He died 4 January 1865 in Nashville as a result of a gunshot wound to his abdomen. He was only 26 years old when he died. He didn't have a chance to marry his sweetheart.

His brother, Edwin Augustus Garrison was also in the service, serving as a Chaplain. He was imprisioned during the war. He survived, married, and become a Methodist Minister. I have a copy of Edwin's war journal and also another journal, where he mentions his brother Frank.
