Charles Garrison Sanford, 43, 1507 East Century, died Tuesday, December 12, 1961 in Pleasanton, Texas, after apparently suffering a heart attack while on a business trip.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, December 15, 1961, at Saint John's Episcopal Church, with the Reverend Lawrence Berry officiating. Burial will be in the Sunset Memorial Garden Mausoleum.
Sanford, who was owner of Sanford Sales and Service, was born August 1, 1918 in Timpson, Texas, and was married July 5, 1947 in Carrizozo, New Mexico, to Dorothy Lucille Black.
Sanford came to Odessa in 1954. He was in the Eighth Air Force during World War II and was a member of the Elks Lodge. He was also a member of the Episcopal Church and the Brotherhood of Saint Andrews.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Barbara and Carol, both of the home; his father, Gary Bonner Sanford of Timpson; and three sisters, Mrs. Arlie Allen of Jasper, Texas; Mrs. Leslie Keeble of Tyler, Texas; and Mrs. Robert McKinney of Mount Calm, Texas.
Hubbard Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
