Earl is a son of Henry Seward Zook and Margaret Ann (Burns) Zook, and the husband of Eva B. (Tillotson) Zook.
Obituary (submitted by Doug Harsany) Nevada Journal, October 5, 1954, Page 1 Earl S. Zook, 65, 1906 Sixth Street, Nevada, died at 3:25 this morning in the Story County Hospital as the result of kidney complications. He had undergone surgery in the University Hospital in Iowa City, followed by hospitalization there and four different times in the Story County Hospital, the last time when he entered a week ago. Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock at the Ryan Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery south of Ames. Mr. Zook, longtime employee of the Nevada Poultry Company, is survived by his wife Eva Tillotson Zook whom he married June 28 1915, by two sons, Edwin Zook of Cedar Rapids and Lee Zook of Nevada and five daughters, Ruth, Mrs. Irwin Stoeffler and Mary, Mrs. Joe Harsany of Nevada, Doris, Mrs. Ervan Cook, Fontana, Calif., Nadine, Mrs. Don Lawler of Nevada and Pat at home. He also leaves one brother, Fred Zook of Phoenix, Ariz., four sisters, Mrs. Orton Adams, Cambridge, Mrs. Raymond Warren, Ames, Mrs. E. C. Bundy, Spring Valley, Minn. and Mrs. Hoyt Sexton, North Hollywood, Calif. and 24 grandchildren.
