Martha Nevenhoven, 76, of Austinville, IA, died Monday, August 8th, 1988, in Allen Memorial Hospital, Waterloo, IA.
Funeral services for Martha Nevenhoven were held at 11 AM, Thursday, August 11th, 1988 in the Christian Reformed Church in Ackley, IA. The pastor, Rev. Floyd DeBoer, officiated. The musician was Ruth DeBoer and vocalist was Gordon Hippen. Casket-Bearers were Henry Kromminga, Sidney Penning, Herman Klooster, Fred Bolhuis, Thomas Ubben and William Hemmen. Interment was in the Christian Reformed Cemetery, rural Ackley, IA.
Martha Hulzebus Nevenhoven was born on May 14th, 1912, in Grundy County, IA, the daughter of George and Anna Schipper Hulzebus. She received her education in a rural school and the Austinville School. She was a retired employee of the Maple Manor nursing Home, Aplington, IA.
Martha was united in marriage to Kobus (Jakobus) Nevenhoven on November 5th, 1932, in the parsonage of the Christian Reformed Church, Ackley, IA. She lived most of her life in the Austinville area.
Surviving are two sons and their wives, Harold & Ellen Nevenhoven, Brooklyn, IA, and Kenneth & Judy Nevenhoven, Aplington, IA; three sisters, Rena DeVries of New Hartford, IA, Elizabeth Ridder of Ackley, IA, and Gertrude Hovenga of Dumont, IA; and six grandchildren.
Martha was preceded in death her parents, her husband, an infant son, and three sisters, Effie, Johanna and Divinie.
