Lafont Ezar Delphine Marie Smith Lafont, 89, a native and resident of Galliano, died at 10:43 a.m. Friday, June 27, 2008.
Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until service time Tuesday at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church with interment in Cheramie Mausoleum.
She is survived by two daughters, Judy LeBlanc, and husband Ray; and June Lafont, 12 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Euclid "Ken" Joseph Lafont;
her parents, Washington and Lucy Kief Smith;
two sons-in-law, Donald Pitre and Mark Terrebonne; one daughter, Carol Pitre;
five brothers and six sisters.
She served her country in American Legion Post 315 and her church as a member of Ladies Altar Society and taught catechism at her children's school as a member of the PTA. She was loved by her neighbors, church members and her loving family. She will be sadly missed.
