Elaine Agnes Cuevas McIntyre, 88, died peacefully in her Ponchatoula home Monday, July 19, 2010. She was the loving wife of the late William Burns McIntyre Sr. Elaine was known for her compassion and always placed others before herself. Her beautiful Catholic faith was a large part of her life. She was a dedicated member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Rosary Altar Society. She was born Monday, July 25, 1921, in New Orleans, daughter of the late Kenneth Clyde Cuevas and the late Mary Elizabeth Wetzka Cuevas. Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Phyllis and Bob Stanga; four sons and daughters-in-law, Mark and Mary Ann McIntyre, Dennis and Linda McIntyre, Rodney and Rita McIntyre, and Jimmy and Cherie McIntyre; 16 grandchildren, Monica Rogers, Jonathan Stanga, Scott Stanga, Cindy Thomas, Marisa Taylor, Brett McIntyre, Allison Kern, Jeri Lane Jacobs, Ethan McIntyre, Lara and Mackie McIntyre, Christopher and Tyler McIntyre, Amber Benson, Sara Hyde, and Matt Lipscomb; 18 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Roselyn Genre, Hammond, and Lois Guwang, Baton Rouge; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents; husband, William B. McIntyre Sr.; son, William B. "Mackie" McIntyre Jr.; brother, Kenneth C. Cuevas; and sister, Margaret Howes. Friends will be received at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Ponchatoula, Wednesday, July 21, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Ponchatoula, Thursday at 11 a.m. Interment in the Ponchatoula Cemetery.
