Miss Catharine Strouse was a Music Professor in Lyon County, Kansas, for many years. She taught at the former Kansas State Teachers College, now Emporia State University from 1910 to 1946. For many years in Emporia, Miss Strouse and Ruth J. Lynn held a music concert at Emporia Auditorium every Spring where all the schools Ruth Lynn taught at put on a concert. The concert was under the direction of Miss Catharine E. Strouse. It was quite impressive. Further research is continuing on her professional biography.
