Brimfield Woman Meets Death As Cars Collide at Kickapoo; Two Other Injured
Princeville residents were shocked and grieved to learn of the sudden passing of a former resident, Mrs. Ruth Mendenhall Lottman, who met death early Sunday morning when the automobile in which she and her husband were riding collided with a car driven by Mrs. Thelma Snyder, 311 North Glendale avenue, Peoria.
The accident occurred on Route 150 in Kickapoo and the Lottmans were en route to their home in Brimfield. An inquest was held at the Johnson funeral home in Brimfield, at which time Mrs. Snyder stated that she was blinded by the lights on the approaching Lottman machine. She was treated at St. Francis hospital, Peoria and released Sunday afternoon. Mr. Lottman was also taken to the hospital for emergency treatment and subsequently released. He suffered fro shock and bruises.
Both machines were completely demolished by the terrific impact.
Mrs. Lottman was born at Brimfield on October 17, 1916, a daughter of Gilbert and Rosa Mendenhall. She graduated of the Brimfield grade and high schools and of the Dickinson business college and hade been employed by the Peoria Merchants' association. She formerly worked at the B. & M. department store in Peoria. Following her marriage to Paul A. Lottman, a home was established on the farm of Mr.Lottman's father north of Brimfield, he being associated with his father in farming. Mrs. Lottman was a member of the Presbyterian church of Princeville.
Surviving are her husband and two year-old son of Brimfield; her parents and grandfather, George Bush of Princeville and three sisters, Mrs. Harold Burt of Peoria and Mrs. Joe Dungan and Mrs. Willis Kingdon, both of Brimfield.
Funeral services were held Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock at the Johnson funeral home in Brimfield, with Rev. Thomas Harrison, pastor of St. Joseph's church officiating. Burial was in the Kickapoo cemetery.

Surviving are her husband; a two-year old son, Robert Lottman; her parents of Princeville , and three sisters, Mrs. Harold Burt of Peoria and Mrs. John Dungan and Mrs. William Kingdon, both of Brimfield.
