Mrs. Lauretta A. Davis
Mrs. Lauretta A. Davis of Alexandria died at 9:45 a.m. Wednesday, July 16, 1952, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Edith Kyle, in Alexandria. She had been in failing health for 1 1/2 years.
The deceased was born on February 14, 1867, in Porter Township, the daughter of Enoch and Caroline (Whittaker) Lefford (sic-Leffard). In February, 1892, she was united in marriage to Samuel T. Davis at Alexandria by the Rev. Austin Jolly.
Her husband died on October 4, 1904.
Mrs. Davis was a faithful member of the Alexandria Presbyterian Church and financial secretary of the church for 15 years. She belonged to the W. E. Stewart Missionary Society and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Alexandria Volunteer Fire Company.
Two children, Mrs. Edith Kyle and George L. Davis of Huntingdon, eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren survive. Two other children, Mrs. Helen Spacht and William Davis, preceded their mother in death.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p. m. Saturday at Grove's funeral home in Alexandria with the Rev. Kenneth L. Duncan officiating. Interment will be made in the Alexandria Presbyterian Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. this Thursday evening.
