Lon Ford Ollis, 60, of Massillon, died Sunday in Massillon Community Hospital after a sudden illness.
Born in Frank, N.C., he lived in the Massillon area of 30 years. He was a tool and die maker for the Hoover Co. and also worked at Floorcare Inc. in Massillon.
He was a member of the American Croatian Club, Army-Navy Garrison 1984 and Massillon Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3124. He was an Army veteran and a Baptist.
He was proceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Lockie (Gwen) Ollis; and a brother, Leonard Ollis.
He is survivied by two daughters, Mary and Jeanne; and two sons, Eric and Daniel Ollis, three sisters, Alberta Puddock of Navarre and Ruby Snyder and Easter Riley, both of Newland, N. C.; two brothers, Lacy Ollis of Canton and Colonel Ollis of Milwaukee, Wis.; and five grandchildren.
The funeral is at noon Thursday in Atkinson-Feucht-Shaid-nagle Funeral Home in Massillon with Rev. Daniel Ollis, his son, officiating. Burial is in the Massillon Cemetery.
Friends may call one hour before the service Thursday in the funeral home.
