A family service for Col. Henry McClellan Greenleaf, USA Medical Corps (ret.), of Brush Hill road, Milton, will be held in the chapel of the Arlington National Cemetery, Washington, D.C., tomorrow at 11 a.m. His brother-in-law, Very Rev. Charles H. Buck Jr., retired dean of St. Paul's Cathedral, Boston, will officiate.

Col. Greenleaf, who was 71, died of a heart attack last Wednesday in New York City while en route from Annapolis, Md., to his home in Milton.

His 21-year career in the Army Medical Corps included service with the Third Army in France and Germany during World War II. He received the Bronze Star Medal for his service as Division Surgeon during the Battle of the Bulge. His last active assignment was as Post Surgeon at the Presidio of San Francisco.

On retirement from the Army in 1958, he attended the Harvard School of Public Health, graduating the following year. For several years after that he was deputy director of the Public Health Department of Hartford, Conn. He later became director of the Health Department of the City of Newton and subsequently of the Town of Brookline.

Col. Greenleaf attended Dartmouth College and was graduated from Harvard Medical School in 1935.

He was a member of the Retired Officers Assn., the American and Connecticut Medical Assns. and the Massachusetts Medical Society.

Col. Greenleaf leaves his wife, Arlene (Ripley); a son, Henry McC. Greenleaf Jr. of Essex, Conn.; three daughters, Elizabeth S. of Ashland, Ore., Rebeca R. and Ann DeR. Greenleaf, both of Milton; two sisters, Edith G. Weyerhauser of Brookline and Elizabeth (Mrs. Charles H.) Buck Jr. of Phoenix, Ariz.

Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery.
