Esther J. Reasy -- Andover

Andover -- The funeral of Esther Reasy, 74, of Andover will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the United Methodist Church in Andover. The Rev. David Bishop will officiate.

Burial will be in Andover Cemetery under the direction of Paetznick-Garness Funeral Home of Groton.

A prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m. today in the funeral home. The family is asked to meet at the Andover Cafe at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. today and prior to services in the church.

Esther J. Reasy died Saturday, Sept. 22, 1990, at McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls.

Esther Dokter was born July 10, 1916, in Andover to Guy and Hazel (Easterby) Dokter. She grew up there and they later moved to Lemmon. She graduated from Lemmon High School in 1934.

She married Alvin Fugman in 1935.

She married Ross D. Reasy March 3, 1949, in Lemmon. They moved to Washington, where she lived most of her life. After retiring they traveled during the winter for the last five years. They moved to Andover last July.

She was a member of the Church of God in Seattle, Wash. They held nursing home ministries in retirement homes throughout the country and taught Tiny Tot Sunday School.

Survivors include her husband of Andover; two sons, Mark Reasy of Ellendale, N.D., Gregory Reasy of Seattle; five daughters, Mrs. Ivan (Carolyn) Morehouse of Andover, Mrs. David (Sandra) Bishop of Yakima, Wash., Mrs. Bert (Adrienne) Logsdon of Reedsport, Ore., Mrs. Don (Stephanie) Hartfiel of Woodenville, Wash., and Mrs. John (Rosalind) Gyori of Sacramento, Calif.; three sisters, Mrs. Harold (Aldyth) Peterson of Lemmon, Mrs. Herman (Sarah) Eklo of Mobridge, Mrs. Scott (Grace) Hughs [sic] of Miles City, Mont.; 24 grandchildren; and 35 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother.

Casketbearers will be Joe Sellers, Brad, Paul and Ray Morehouse; David Bishop, Aaron Logsdon, Darren, Delvin and Dustin Reasy; and Jeremy and Jason Gyori.

Organist will be Jarenda Peterson. Soloist will be the Rev. Dean Trapp with a duet by the Rev. David Bishop and Sandra Bishop.
