PROMINENT PIONEER IS CALLED BY DEATH
Napoleon Boneparte Abbot, for sixty-five years a resident of California, and a pioneer of the state, died at his home in Rackerby last night, aged 83 years, 4 months and 2 days. For thirty years he made his home in Rackerby and was well known in this part of the state.

He is survived by a widow, Mrs. Mary Abbott, and eleven children, Charles A., William H., Elmer J., George C., Herbert L., Otto I., and Austin L. Abbott, Mrs. Hattie M. Clark, Mrs Ida E. Werner, Mrs. Anna E. Taintor and Mrs. Mabel G. Austin.

During the forty-four years of married life he was never separated from his beloved wife but one month and that was when he made a trip East twenty years ago.

He first came to Marysville from Kansas City when he was eighteen years of age. For several years he ran a store at Port Wine and from there moved to Rackerby where he spent the remaining thirty years, until his death.

The funeral will take place tomorrow afternoon at 1 o'clock from his late home at Rackerby. Interment in the Upham Cemetery

PIONEER'S SONS ARE PALL BEARERS
The funeral of the late N. B. Abbott was held yesterday at 1 o'clock from the family home in Rackerby, L. W. Clark of Oroville read the services. Music was furnished by Miss Ida Ruff, Mrs. Sophie De Vol, Miss Effie Darby, Miss Moike and Paul Rackerby.

The dead man's six sons were pall-bearers. They were Charles A., William H., Elmer J., George C., Herbert L., and Austin L. Abbott.

There was a large attendence, people coming from all parts of the county to attend the funeral of the pioneer. There were many beautiful floral offerings from friends.
