David was born May 9, 1948 in Concordia, Kan., to Arnold and Mildred Allerheiligen.
He grew up in Holdrege, Nebraska where he graduated from high school. He also graduated from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln and the University of Nebraska Medical School in Omaha, Nebraska.
On Dec. 26, 1975, David married Judy Young in Omaha. Dr. Allerheiligen served the McCook community as a family practice physician from 1978 to 1991. Since then, he has served as a commander/flight surgeon in the U.S. Coast Guard, and a faculty member of the University of Wyoming's Family Practice Residency Program in Casper.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mildred Allerheiligen; and one son, Craig Allerheiligen in 1988.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Allerheiligen of Casper; son, Lt. Col. Nathan Allerheiligen and wife, Susan of Little Rock, Arkansas; daughter, Christine Kleckner and husband, John of Eden Prairie, Minnesota; father, Arnold Allerheiligen of Holdrege, Nebraska and nine grandchildren He also is survived by brothers, Ron Allerheiligen of St. James, Mo., Milt of Holdrege, Bill of Harvard, Ill.
Graveside services are planned at 3 p.m. Monday (7/19/10) at Park Hill Cemetery in Syracuse, Nebraska with the Rev. John Finster officiating.
