She was the daughter of the late Austin and Addie (Jarvis) Royse, Virginia was born in Lexington, Ky. on Oct. 9, 1917. She married Robert K. Blaine on Oct. 9, 1944, and they shared a loving relationship for 66 years. They had one son, James A. Blaine, and one daughter, Jacalyn and Tim Emerick, all of Greenfield. Virginia and Robert also raised Robert's brother, Franklin Blain of Wichita, Kan. Besides her husband and children, Virginia is survived by four grandchildren, Jini and Vince Parker of South Salem, Steve Emerick of Greenfield, Luiza and Steve Whiteside of Lebanon and Mark Blaine of San Antonio, Texas; four great-grandchildren, Cameron and Elizabeth Whiteside and Hudson and Blaine Parker; one sister and three brothers, Polly Alcorn of Mason, Lloyd and Glenna Royse of Franklin, Tenn., Pete and Betty Royse of Springfield and Clifford Royse of Greenfield; and a host of other family members and friends. Besides her parents, Virginia was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers, Irene Royse, Beulah Middaugh, Paul Royse, Norvel Royse and Albert Royse; and her daughter-in-law, Cheryl Blaine. Virginia was a member of the United Brethren Church in Greenfield for more than 70 years. She had been attending the Anchor Baptist Church in Washington C.H. She was an active participant in ministry with her husband for 66 years. She was a real prayer warrior and carried a burden for the souls of her family and friends. She was a 1935 graduate of the Edward Lee McClain High School. The funeral service will be held at Anchor Baptist Church at 1 p.m. Saturday. Pastor Jeremy Griffith and the Rev. William Blain will officiate. Burial will follow in the Greenfield Cemetery.
