Birth: Mar. 22, 1819
Clark County
Illinois, USA
Death: Mar. 19, 1839
Houston County
Texas, USA

Rachel and LTM married on May 28, 1833, in Illinois, and came with her family to Texas. They settled in what is now Limestone County and built Fort Parker. Fort Parker was attacked on May 19, 1836, while the men were working the fields. Five were captured, including Rachel and her son, James Pratt. She had LTM, Jr. while in captivity. He was savagely killed in front of her. She was returned to LTM and her family on February 19, 1838. She had another son, Wilson, on January 4, 1839. She never regained her strength and on March 19, 1839, Rachel died. Wilson died 2 days later. It is thought that she was buried at Plummer Cemetery, but there is no marker there for her.
