Rev. Albert Lee Elam was born November 14, 1918, in Austin, TX and went to be with the Lord, November 21, 2009 in Austin at the age of 91. Albert retired from the State of Texas in 1999. He was employed by both the House of Representatives and the Texas Senate. He served as Pastor/teacher to many churches in Austin, Dale, McMahan, Rosanky, Smiley, Westhoff. He has mentored many young preachers. He and his wife have had 29 foster children in their home throughout their lives. He is preceded in death by his wife Emma Jean Brooks; siblings, H. P., Clyde, Bill, Ernest, Hallie, Evelyn, and Margaret. Albert is survived by his sister, Doris Rogers; daughters, Betty Jean Etheredge, Lori Petty and husband Roger, Sue Powell and husband Delbert; sons, Jeff Jones and wife Mary and Jimmy Tucker; grandson, Robert Petty along with many other grandchildren; great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 PM Tuesday, November 24, at the Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 2620 S. Congress Avenue, Austin, TX. Celebration of Life will be 10 AM Wednesday, November 25, at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Rosanky Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Howard Harris, Albert Jason Jones, Stephen Woytkewicz, Hyrom Reed, Harold Welch and Mike Lewis. Honorary Pallbearers are Delbert Powell, Jr., Bill Morgan and Steve Means. The family would like to offer a special thanks to AMED Hospice & Family Eldercare. In Lieu of flowers, we ask that you consider donations to the Onion Creek Baptist Church Children's/Youth Fund, P.O.
