BARTEAU, AERIAL GUNNER, WAS ABOARD MISSING BOMBER, SGT. Roy F. Barteau, an aerial gunner, was aboard a heavy bomber that, is missing today from its base, Chatham Field, near Savannah, Ga., the, War Department informed his father, Mathew Barteau, 305 Castello, Street, Florissant., The bomber, which carried a crew of 10 officers and men and two flying, instructors, was last seen yesterday when it dropped out of a, formation of three planes flying over the ocean southeast of, Jacksonville, Florida., Residents of Daytona Beach, Florida, reported that a large plane,, possibly an Army bomber, exploded yesterday some 30 miles off St., Augustine, Florida and one body was brought ashore at Daytona, the, Associated Press said., SGT. Barteau, 20 years old, worked for the McDonnell Aircraft, Corporation before enter the service.
