"WAS A GOOD WOMAN.
Mrs. Elizabeth Laderach, an old resident of West Bay City, died last Sunday at her home in Salzburg. Mrs. Laderach was born on the 25th day of March, 1838, in Canton Berne, Switzerland. She received good training both at home and in school, the benefits of which accompanied her through life. While yet young she came to America and made Sandusky, Ohio, her first home. Here she met Jacob Laderach. They were married in March, 1869, and at once came to Salzburg. Here they lived for years and at the beginning prospects were for a pleasant and agreeable future. Mr. Laderach together with his brothers was in the manufacturing business at Salzburg, but unavoidable business reverses, together with the early death of Mr. Laderach cut short a most pleasant and prosperous era.
Since the death of her husband Mrs. Laderach continued to live at Salzburg with her children. She was an artist in fancy handwork and at several exhibitions received prizes in recognition of her accomplishments in that line.
Mrs. Laderach was instructed in the doctrines and usages of the Reformed church of her mother country and by confirmation became a member of the same. To that church she remained true in her new home and has been a loyal supporter of the Reformed church at Salzburg since its organization in 1880.
The last two years Mrs. Laderach was failing in health. Her death was due to cancer. She was removed beyond all possible suffering last Sunday November 16, at 9 o'clock, having reached the age of 64 years, 7 months and 22 days. She leaves four children, three daughters and one son, six grandchildren and four sisters, two of which live in Salzburg and two in Switzerland."
