What is a home without a mother?
That question was again answered by the and hearts of Sylvester Weikle and his family at their home next to Union W.Va. on January 12, 1923 when the wife and mother, Amanda Jane Arnott Weikle answered the beckoning call of an angel and gave back her soul to God to rest under the shade of the tree of life eternal.

Mrs. Weikle was the daughter of Henry Watts Arnott and Mrs. Ellen Arnott of Greenville W.Va. She was born April 23, 1852 and was united in marriage to Sylvester Weikle Feb 22, 1872. She was the mother of 12 children two of whom Everette and Russell, died when young. She is survived by her husband aged 76 and 10 children as follows: F.G. Weikle of Alderson, M.D. of Greenville, B.C. of Ronceverte W.Va, C.E. of Alderson, Mrs Cordia E. (Dehart) Compton of Sarton. H.W. of Hinton H.L. at home., Mrs. Wilbur Broyles, and S.A. of Sarton, and Mrs. L.C. Miller of Ronceverte ; also 5 brothers and one sister, J.W. and C.R Arnott of Greenville, I.N. Arnott of Red House W.Va. H.F Arnott of Sabetha, Kas. and Dr. L.P. Arnott of Lawrence Kas. and Mrs. Elizabeth Miller Of Greenville, W.Va.

Mrs. Weikle professed faith in Christ and united with M. E. Church South when quite young and lived a continual consecrated Christian life. She said a short while before her death to her poster, Rev G.H. Echols in substance " I regret to leave my love ones but am ready and willing to obey the Master's call". She was a kind and indulging mother a good and oblging neighbor, making a home a place of delight for her family.

Funeral services were held at Mt. Alexander Church on Jan 14, 1923 by her pastor Rev. G.H. Echols; then the body was laid to rest to await the resurrection call of the angel of God.
