Death: Jul. 6, 2010
Minnesota, USA

Louisa (Louise) Angelina (Parascondolo) Dunn was born on August 30, 1919 to Nicholas and Mageluca (Vonoccora) Parascondolo in Boonton, New Jersey. Louise was baptized on the 11th of June, 1922 at the Church of our Lady of Mt. Carmel in New York, New York. She had her first holy communion on June 9, 1929 in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. Louise was a first generation American. Louise attended grade school in Boonton, New Jersey. She graduated high school at Julia Rickman High School in New York. She was employed at the New Jersey Bell Telephone Company in Boonton, New Jersey.
Louise and James Dunn were married on Friday November 21, 1952 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Dwight, Illinois. They were accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Eugene (Gene and Bert) Staton of Pleasanton, Kansas. The bride wore a two-piece ice blue faille dress. They were blessed with two children – James and Anita, five grandchildren – Alyssa, Jeffrey, Kyle, Daniel and Nicholas, and one great-grandchild Declan.
Louise became a member of the St. Andrew Episcopal Church in Fort Scott, Kansas on May 10, 1961. First and foremost Louise was a supportive wife and loving mother. Her husband Jim worked pipeline construction; they traveled across the United States following the work with Louise always maintaining the family on the road. While always a wonderful mother who maintained an unwavering steadfastness, it seemed that being a grandmother was what Louise was born to be. Louise was an excellent cook, and brought her east coast Italian food heritage to Kansas. She was also an accomplished seamstress, and it was not uncommon during the 1960s to see her cutting out patterns and sewing on her Singer. While her children were in high school Louise worked part-time at the Braemore outlet store in Pleasanton, bringing her great knowledge of patterns and sewing to the retail outlet.
Louise passed away peacefully on July 6th at LakeWood Care Center in Baudette, Minnesota.
Louise was preceded in death by her husband, grandparents, parents, an infant sister –Teresa, and her brothers and sisters – Joseph, Mariana, Emma, and Mario. She is survived by her son James (Cynthia) and son Nicholas of Baudette, MN; daughter Anita Eakins (Terry) and children Alyssa, Jeffrey, Kyle, Daniel, and great-grandson Declan the son of Alyssa and Danny O-Meara, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
As Nana to her grandchildren, Louise shone with all the finest qualities of being a grandmother. Her kind, loving, gentle spirit cherished each grandchild; celebrating their individual spirit and uniqueness. While she treasured each one, she also guarded each one in her own unique way, protecting them from harm, both physical and emotional. Her love and support were such that each grandchild forever carries her influence in their heart.

Services will be held at 10:30 AM, Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at the Coffel-Schneider Chapel, Pleasanton, Kansas. Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8:00 PM, Monday at the chapel. Contributions are suggested to the Parkinson's Foundation. Interment will be in the Pleasanton Cemetery.
