Delva J. Sackett, 60, of Central City, died Friday, May 5, 2006, at St. Luke's Hospital, following a short illness.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 9, 2006, at United Church of Christ in Central City by Rev. Jonna Jenson and Rev. Steve Russell. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Monday at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Central City. Burial: Mt. Clark Cemetery, Central City.

Survivors include her husband, David; four children, Dianna (Mark) Hackman of Central City, Tim (Teresa) Sackett of Ryan, Dena (Jerry) Moyer of Walker and Daryl (Amanda) Sackett of Mt. Vernon; her mother, Nellie Wood of Central City; two brothers, Dean (Kathy) Wood and Rick (Julie) Wood, all of Central City; and a sister, Nancy Bahr of Alburnett; six grandchildren, Dillan and Katie Sackett, Kaylin and Ben Moyer, Brianna Hackman and Jenna Sackett; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Arthur Wood and a half-brother, Duane McVay.

Delva was born June 16, 1945, the daughter of Arthur and Nellie (Taylor) Wood in Manchester.

On January 21, 1967, she married David Sackett in Central City.

Delva enjoyed being a homemaker and was a good cook.

She also helped David farm and with the Mycogen seed business. Delva worked at Rockwell Collins and Central City Manufacturing.

Her hobbies included spending time with family and friends, mushroom hunting, cards, puzzles, flower gardening, crafts and ceramics, going to Branson, and especially loved spending time with grandchildren.
