He was a lifelong resident of Knott's Island. Mr. Capps was a veteran of World War I. He was the son of the late Malachi and Mrs. Luvinia Waterfield Capps.
He is survived by two sisters, Miss Edith Capps of Virginia Beach and Mrs .Lucy Ansell of Knott's Island; and three nieces, Mrs. Ondra Bowden of Norfolk, Mrs. Danny Combs of West Point and Miss Carole Garrett of Knott's Island.
The body was removed to the Cox Funeral Home and will be taken from there to the Knott's Island Methodist Church for funeral services to be conducted tomorrow at 2:30 p.m. by the Rev. Robert J. Pierre, pastor. Burial will be in Knott's Island Cemetery. The body will lie in state at the church one hour prior to services.
