He moved south to the Hungarian community of Budapest in Harlason County, Georgia at a very young age. After his fathers death at age 50 in 1906 he and his mother and siblings remained in the Budapest area.
Steve was drafted into the United States Army and was assigned to the Calvary unit in the 2nd Development Battalion, 157-DB, Company "E" and held the rank of Private. He was the only one of his siblings to serve in the military.
After his discharge he and his mother and siblings migrated north to Lorain, Ohio.
He met and married Mary Horvath in Lorain, Ohio at St. Ladislaus Church. They were the parents of 2 children: George Newman Rado and Irene Marie Rado.
Steve was working for Thew Shovel in Lorain at the time of his death on December 5, 1951 and was making his home on East 31st Street Ct in Lorain.
