My Beloved Mother

Esther was an expert seamstress, went to church gatherings, Girl Scout Leader, Crossing Guard, cake maker, baker, loved gardening, played piano, organ and the mother of two. A son, who was a veteran of Vietnam, and a daughter. She was also the grandmother of 3 and great grandmother of 5.

Esther was the daughter of Ralph and Anna Livingston. She had two older brothers, Blair (1910-1980), Lewis (1912-1913) and a younger sister, Ruth (1932-2013)

Esther lost her dad when she was only 15. Her mother had no skills and had an one year old baby to take care of. She had to quit school, find a job and actually took the younger sister as her own baby because the mother was grieving over the death of her husband and lost interest for the infant daughter. A lot for a 15 yr old to take on.

My parents got married in 1944 and because Esther still had to support her own mother & younger sister, she waited to have her own two babies well into her thirties.

Ray & Esther's wedding day ~ May 27, 1944

Esther aged 91 years, 8 months, 16 days

She was laid to rest on December 15, 2008 at 12:15 p.m.
