Mrs. Rozzie Steadham, Crosbyton resident for 50 years, died about 1 p.m. Thursday in the Crosbyton hospital after an extended illness.
Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the First Baptist Church. The Rev. Ernest Stewart, pastor, officiated, assisted by the Rev. Henry Salley, pastor of the First United Methodist Church. Burial was in Crosbyton Cemetery under direction of King Funeral Home.
A native of Graham, Mrs. Steadham moved to Crosby County in 1921. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star.
She is survived by her husband, John Steadham; four daughters, Mrs. Ina Lee Finch, Mrs. Annie Pearl Miller and Mrs. Jewel Leatherwood, all of Crosbyton, and Mrs. Bea Cotner of Garland; two sons, Earl Steadham of Anaheim, CA, and J.B. Steadham of Tacoma, WA; 16 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren.

The father of Rozzie Lee Pardue Steadham was Newton Franklin Pardue, son of James T Pardue and Elizabeth Jane Maloney Pardue of Obion County, Tennessee. Elizabeth later married Allen Dowdy, grandfather of Dicy Gallaway Pardue. At the present time, the life of Newton Franklin Pardue remains a mystery. Following the death of his wife in Young County, Texas, he returned to Stoddard County, MO and is last found in the 1900 U S Federal census there.
