Venango Spectator, February 20, 1873:
DIED - At the residence of her father, John Campbell, in Jackson township, on Sabbath evening, February 2d, 1873, Miss Hannah M. Campbell, aged 39 years and 11 days.
Thus has passed away one who was universally respected in the community where she lived, and loved most by those who knew her best. In her youth she made a public profession of religion, and became a member of the Presbyterian Church of Sunville, in the communion of which she continued to the time of her death. She ardently loved the Church of her early choice, and was one of its substantial and zealous members. Her high Christian character and active, industrious life made her everywhere respected and admired. When health would permit her she was always ready to visit the afflicted and give a helping hand to their comfort. Now, with them she is though lost to sight to memory dear. On the 22d day of January last, being her thirty-ninth birthday, the fatal disease commenced its work on her, and gradually growing weaker she told her aged parents that this was her last sickness, and that she would soon leave all dear to her here. In eleven days after she fell asleep in that sleep that knows no waking till the Master calls. She selected the text for her funeral sermon to be preached from 1st Peter, third chapter and tenth verse, and fourth chapter and seventh verse, which was preached by her pastor, Rev. R.H. Reeves, to a very large congregation of people.
