Captain William Durand Bogart: Captain Bogart was born in Granville Ferry, Nova Scotia, Canada. His parents were Captain John Henry Bogart b 12-27-1827 d. 3-4-1881. Captain John was also born in Granville Ferry, Nova Scotia . He died in Rotterdam, Holland. He was the captain of the ship St. Patrick. William's mother was Caroline Elizabeth Crossup. b 5-24-1820 d 2-25-1912. She lived her entire life in Nova Scotia, Canada.
Captain William Bogart married Ida Marieta Miller in Nova Scotia, Canada on 8-9-1888. They moved to Fernandina when their only child Kate Bogart was a child. He continued to work as a Sea Captain until his retirement.
Daughter Kate Bogart married H. Mahoney in Fernandina. Six months after her marriage she died. She is also buried in St. Peter's cemetery. She has a memorial marker that is well known and photographed often as one of the most beautiful graves in the Southeast.
