FATHER OF CASSVILLE BUSINESSMAN DIES
Asa Winfred Fanning, son of Thomas and Margaret Fanning, born March 26, 1885, in Carroll County, Arkansas, and departed this life February 16, 1960, in Berryville, Arkansas, at the age of 74 years, 10 months, and 20 days. He was the father of Carl Fanning of Cassville.
He was married to Nellie Glaze, and to this union seven children were born. One daughter, Winnie Jones, preceded him in death.
Surviving him are; his wife, Mrs. Nellie Fanning of the home in Berryville; six sons; Lawrence, Grant, Lewis, and Claud Fanning, all of Dixon, Calif.; Carl Fanning, Cassville; Elmer Fanning, Berryville, Ark.; one brother, Jack Fanning, Eureka Springs, Ark.; three sisters; Mrs. Della Rawlings of El Ceritor, Calif., 18 grand-children, 4 great-grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.
He had professed his hope in Christ many years ago, and was a member of the North Side Christian Church of Berryville, Ark.
Funeral services were held Thursday, February 18, 2:00 P.M. at the Nelson Chapel in Berryville, Ark. Burial was in the Berryville Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of the Nelson Funeral Home.
Among those from Cassville attending the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Nickle, Mrs. Ernest German, J. C. Kenney, J. A. Hull, Col., Nicoll, Charles Willis, Rev. Raymond Black, Chan Catron, Mrs. Charles Cruder, Mrs. Ted Hopkins, Mrs. Oren Ross and Mrs. Matt Sims.
