Margaret Ellen Guy
Margaret Ellen Norris was born in Harrison county (sic), Indiana, May 18, 1851. Her parents moved to Warren county (sic), Iowa about 1852, where on March 18, 1868, she was married to W. M. Guy. To this union six children were born: Rebecca Thompson of Guide Rock, Andrew Guy of Cowles, Ora Ogelvie (sic) of Clayton, Kansas, Frank Guy of Guide Rock, Florence Webber of Campbell, and Emery Guy of Guide Rock.
In 1873 Mr. and Mrs. Guy moved to Webster county (sic), Nebraska, and located on a farm seven miles north of Guide Rock where they resided until 1900 when they removed to Guide Rock. Mr. Guy died February 6, 1922. Mrs. Guy died October 29, 1922, aged 71 years, 5 months and 11 days.
She was a member of the Friends Church at North Branch, Kansas.
Besides the children, she leave four sisters: Mrs. L. Brown of Upland, California, Mrs. A. P. Hagan of Ontario, California, Mrs. Etta Hubbard of Guide Rock, and Mrs. Clara Bailey of Bucklen, Kansas, one brother, W. H. Norris of Blue Hill, seventeen grandchildren, thirty great grandchildren, and many friends.
In the passing of Mrs. Guy the family have one more tie to bind them to that brighter and better land, and the community another citizen in that kingdom that knows no race nor creed.
The funeral was conducted from the Methodist church (sic) Monday after noon, the pastor, Rev. Luscher, assisting Rev. W. F. Davis of Nora, an esteemed friend of the family. The body was laid to rest in the Guide Rock cemetery (sic).
