Elizabeth Muriel Bryan Fleshman Branscombe died on July 3, 2010.

She was born in Elizabeth City, N.C., on Oct. 23, 1917. She moved to Williamsburg as an infant when Williamsburg still had dirt roads.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Reuben and Phyllis Burleson Bryan; her brothers, Guy Bryan, Ellsworth Bryan, and Loren Bryan; and her sisters, Doris B. Benesh and Jeanie Bryan.

Mrs. Branscombe was predeceased by her first husband, Elwood F. Fleshman, and her second husband, Robert Branscombe.

She is survived by her daughter, Carole F. Desmond of Pearland, Texas, and her husband, John; her granddaughters, Bonnie Pollock of Friendswood, Texas, and Holly Bennett and her husband, Wade, of Pearland; and her great-granddaughters, Lauren Pollock, Avery and Anna Bennett.

She is also survived by her son, David R. Fleshman of Rice, Va., and his wife, Rose; and her grandson, Joshua Fleshman of Williamsburg.

A memorial service was held Tuesday, July 6, at 10 a.m. at Lion of Judah Ministries in Blackstone. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery on Thursday, July 8, at 11 a.m.
