Member of Linden Avenue Baptist Church for 55 years, member of Charles McKinney Lodge No. 433 F&AM for 48 years and was a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason. Survived by: his wife, Lorene Sutton Pate; sons and daughters-in-law, Royal and Ernestine Pate, Clyde and Carolyn Pate, W. T. and Annetta Pate; daughter, Margaret Aileen Gibson; daughter and son-in-law, Rae and J.B. Reynolds; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Fancher; two nieces. Funeral services 11 a.m., Thursday at McCarty Mortuary Chapel with Rev. George Prince officiating. Interment will follow in Cate Cemetery, Jefferson County. Pallbearers will be grandsons.
