PATE, WILLIAM T., SR. - age 89, of Knoxville, passed away 11:26 a.m., Tuesday, December 15, 1998, at home. Member of Linden Avenue Baptist Church for 55 years, member of Charles McKinney Lodge No. 433 F&AM for 48 years and was a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason. Survived by: his wife, Lorene Sutton Pate; sons and daughters-in-law, Royal and Ernestine Pate, Clyde and Carolyn Pate, W. T. and Annetta Pate; daughter, Margaret Aileen Gibson; daughter and son-in-law, Rae and J.B. Reynolds; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Fancher; two nieces. Funeral services 11 a.m., Thursday at McCarty Mortuary Chapel with Rev. George Prince officiating. Interment will follow in Cate Cemetery, Jefferson County. Pallbearers will be grandsons. The family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m., Wednesday at McCarty Mortuary, 4004 Holston Drive. - The Knoxville News-Sentinel, December 16, 1998.
