Mrs. Viola B. Meriwether, age 44, died in the city Friday afternoon after a residence in El Paso of one month. The remains, which were prepared for interment by McBean, Simmons, and Carr, will be shipped to the former home in Shreveport, Louisiana, this evening accompanied by her husband, H.R. Meriwether.
Note: According to her gravestone, the date of death was Thursday, 29 July 1909, not Friday the 30th, although the death record does indicate she died on the 30th. Viola Belle Taylor Meriwether was buried on 2 August 1909, in Greenwood Cemetery, Shreveport, Caddo Parish, Louisiana.
