Ben Boggess
Mr. Ben Boggess of Des Moines, a former resident of this county, died at his home in the capital city on Saturday, July 30, 1910, after an extended illness with a cancer and a complication of troubles. Funeral services were held in Des Moines on Sunday and on Monday morning the remains were brought to this place and interred in the Chariton cemetery, a brief service being conducted at the grave by Rev. Hugh Moore. Mr. Boggess is survived by four children, three daughters and one son. They are Jas. M of Montpelier, Idaho; Mrs. A. D. Beals and Mrs. Chas. Meyer of Des Moines; Mrs. Fred Barnett, of Chicago, all of whom with their families were present at the last sad rites. Mr. Boggess formerly resided near Russell, and had many friends here who will be grieved to learn of his death and who will extend sincere sympathy to the sorrowing relatives.
