BOES - Sister Pauline
BOES - Sister Pauline, died Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2006, in Kingston, Mass., at the age of 90. She was born in Johnstown on March 31, 1915, to Norbert and Mary Schilling Boes, and was given the name Rosemary. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Louise Boes and Dorothy Gallagher; and brothers, Norbert and George. She is survived by sisters, Agnes Heidenthal, Imelda Schiffauer and Pauline Boes, and brothers, Raymond, Robert and Joseph. Sister Pauline entered the Sisters of Divine Providence convent in 1932 and professed her final vows in 1939. She taught in the Pittsburgh parochial schools until 1949, when she transferred to the newly established Divine Providence convent in Plymouth, Mass. She taught in the Massachusetts parochial schools until 1986, when she retired to Lourdes Center, the retirement home for the Divine Providence nuns. As a retiree, she volunteered at the senior center in Cohasset, Mass., doing office work and filling in as a receptionist. She was in her 73rd year as a nun when she died on Jan. 17. She is interred at the Divine Providence Cemetery in Kingston, Mass.
