He moved from eastern to western Iowa 44 years ago, and from there to Kansas in 1885.
Was married to Miss Lowray [sic] Belle Miller in 1886. This splendid wife who knew the trials and joys of the pioneer life with him, preceded him to her reward in 1901. There were born to this union three children, two dying in infancy; the one living, Mrs. Fern Hoppas, caring for him in his last illness.
He leaves one brother, a daughter and her husband, and two grandchildren, besides a host of friends.
The funeral services were held in the M.E. church at Kanona Thursday afternoon of last week, with Reverend Grand Mann of Jennings in charge. The church was filled by the many friends and neighbors wishing to show their sympathy, and many beautiful floral offerings was their tribute of love.
