Kenneth D. Lynch, 73, of rural McLean died at 9:25 p.m. Monday, July 10, 2000, at BroMenn Medical Center in Normal.
Memorial services will be at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, July 13, at Ebenezer United Methodist Church, rural McLean. The Rev. David Venter will officiate. Visitation preceding the services will begin at 6:30 p.m., with fellowship following the service.
A private burial service will be at McLean Cemetery.
Quiram Funeral Home of Atlanta is in charge of arrangements.
Lynch farmed for 50 years.
He was born Feb. 1, 1927, in McLean, the son of C.E. and Lorena (Hancock) Lynch. He married LaDonna Tavenner on June 22, 1947, in McLean. She survives.
Also surviving are three children, Diane (and Steve) Shelton of Richfield, Minn., James (and Christy) Lynch of rural McLean and Deborah Lynch of Rolling Meadows; four grandchildren, Stephanie and Sarah Shelton and Jeff and Todd Lynch; one sister, Lillian Dye, of Lake Jackson, Texas; two brothers, Donald (and Marge) Lynch of Minnetonka, Minn., and Harold (and Judy) Lynch of Sparta, N.J.; and one sister-in-law, Ellen Young Lynch of McLean.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Mike.
Lynch graduated from McLean High School in 1945.
He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II and was stationed in the Philippine Islands.
He was a member of the Ebenezer United Methodist Church and a 53-year member of the American Legion Burger-Benedict Post #573.
