HAMILTON, New Jersey—The Trenton Times, Friday, 26 October 2007—Virginia Morgan (Metzger) McCulloch passed away Wednesday at home surrounded by her family. She was 88 years of age. Her husband of over 50 years, James L. McCulloch, passed away in 1998.

Born in Trenton, she was the daughter of Walter Metzger and May Diamond Metzger and a lifelong area resident. A graduate of Hamilton High School and Trenton State College (now the College of New Jersey), Mrs. McCulloch was a fifth grade teacher, employed with the Hamilton Township Board of Education for many years, retiring in 1978.

She is survived by two daughters, Karen M. Nunley of Westborough, MA, widow of John Nunley, and Janet M. Fuchs and her husband Gary of Doylestown, PA; a son, David R. McCulloch and his wife Lee of North Grafton, MA; three grandchildren, Peter David Nunley, Elliot Fuchs, and Natalie Fuchs; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Russell Metzger, her sister Gloria R. Metzger and her oldest grandson, Jacob Byron Nunley.

A lifelong member of Grace St. Paul Episcopal Church (originally St. Paul's), she served in many capacities, including director of the Sunday School, treasurer of the Episcopal Church Women's Group, and a Girls Friendly Society Sponsor. She was also the overseer of Grace St. Paul's TASK (Trenton Area Soup Kitchen), where she volunteered serving lunches for many years. She was also a member of the Contemporary Club of Trenton, and a lifelong member of the Friends of the Hamilton Library, where she worked at their monthly book sales. She was an avid reader and a lifelong supporter of Native American Rights and environmental and conservation causes.

Burial Office and Requiem Eucharist will be offered 11 a.m. Monday from Grace St. Paul Episcopal Church, 3715 East State St. Ext., Mercerville. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Hamilton. Family and friends may call 3-6 p.m. Sunday at the Saul Colonial Home, 3795 Nottingham Way, Hamilton Square.
