John Cavier Drowned As Car Lands in Creek
John Henry Cavier, 73, life long resident of Glenn County, was drowned early Sunday when his car left a fog shrouded country road three miles southeast of Willows and landed in a creek. He was alone, on his way to hunt ducks, when the accident occurred.
The car hit the railing of the Willow Creek bridge on county road P and tipped over into the stream on its top. The water was shallow but Cavier may have received a head injury which prevented him from saving himself. When the body was extricated there was a deep cut on his forehead.
Cavier who was born May 19, 1988 at Artois leaves six sons, Jack of Artois, Myron, Richard, Gerald, Orman and Donald all of Willows, three daughters, Mrs. Riva Lan_ and Mrs. Verna Lan_, both of Willows and Mrs. Kathryn Loomis of Anderson, a sister Mrs. Lena Harder of Bakersfield; 12 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
His wife, Emma, died in 1952. He also was preceded in death by two sons Raymond and Robert.
The funeral services were held Tuesday at Willows with burial in the Odd Fellows cemetery there. Transcribed by E.
