_________ ೋღღღೋ ____________

The wife of Eugene Brockington Clark.

Our G-Grandmother.

Ruth was a beautiful woman whose grace and fortitude held her family together. She was a sweet and loving mother and grandmother.

Ruth loved cats and always had one in her home; often the cat shared the cribs with her children. She also had a little yellow canary that she loved dearly. G-Grandmother died before I was born, but my father always told me I looked like her. I know we shared a love of cats and her love stands in the attached collection of photos of her cats.

Ruth was a wonderful cook and baker and her granddaughter Lois would run to Grandmother's house if she didn't like what her own mother was cooking. My mother often spoke about Ruth, she loved her grandmother's cats - but was afraid of the canary. I'm still trying to figure out how the canary survived in a house filled with two families and cats!

Mom also said Ruth was very loving to her and made sure mom had beautiful clothes to wear on her honeymoon.

She was a talented seamstress and in her single years a school teacher.

Ruth and her husband Eugene had three children, Ruth "Babe", Alma, and Alvin B. Alvin B. passed away at only 17 succumbing to juvenile diabetes. Alma and her two children moved in with Ruth and Eugene when Alma's husband left her. The family lived in a tiny house at the top of hill which still stands today in Norwalk. The house looks very different, but the cozy feeling still exists.

Thank you to Miss Georgia for sponsoring my Great-grandmother......my grandmother told me over and over about how much Ruth loved cats and I know that's why she caught your eye.... she was a beautiful lady just like you Georgia.
