Pioneer of Pikes Peak Region Died last Night
W. B. Jenkins, 68 years of age and a resident of the Pikes Peak region for 59 years, died last night in the home of his daughter Mrs. Gertrude Hemmenway, at the Hemmenway ranch, southwest of the city. Mr. Jenkins was a charter member of the local lodge of Elks and of El Paso lodge No. 13, A. F. and A. M.
He operated a ranch at one time on south Tejon where Jenkins pond is still located. He is survived by his wife, who is in San Diego with her daughter, Mrs. F. O. Merritt, a son, Percy W. Jenkins, of Craig, Colo, and two daughters Mrs. Hemenway and Mrs. Merritt. The body is at the Law Mortuary and funeral arrangements will be made as soon as word has been received from the relatives in California.
