Alice was the wife of Thomas E. Chockley and the daughter of William Marshall and Isabel Buffington Smith.
Obit Compliments of Kate Jacques CHOCKLEY, Alice Delphos Republican, August 23, 1912 Last Week Mrs. Alice CHOCKLEY died quite suddenly at her home in Solomon. As the deceased had formerly lived here, her remains were brought home for interment. Funeral services were held from the M.E. Church, conducted by Rev. Newton. A husband, five sisters, three brothers and a father and mohter are left to mourn.
August 30, 1912 Miss Alice SMITH-CHOCKLEY was 30 years, 11 months, 19 days old. She was born in Ottawa County in the year of 1881, on the 25th day of August, at Delphos, where she lived till the year 1910. She was then united in marriage to Tom. O. CHOCKLEY, of Solomon, on the 6th day of October, at Minneapolis, and then moved to his home at Solomon, living there happy together till on the tenth day of August, 1912, where she was taken quite suddenly ill and at 5:30 God called her away. The remains were brought home and laid to rest in the Delphos Cemetery. The deceased leaves a husband, father, mother, five sisters, three brothers and many friends at both Solomon and Delphos to mourn her untimely demise.
