He was a versatile character performer fondly remembered for his role as Mr. Wilson on the CBS "Dennis the Menace" television series. He began his acting career on radio in the 1930s, appearing on such programs as "The Adventures of Sam Spade", "The Jack Benny Show", "My Little Margie" and "It's a great Life". Kearns made his film debut in "Hard, Fast and Beautiful" (1951), appeared in other movies, making his final film appearance in "Anatomy of a Murder" (1959). For television, his other credits include "Our Miss Brooks", "The Adventures of Superman" and "Leave it to Beaver". He died in Los Angeles, California, of a cerebral hemorrhage during the third season of "Dennis the Menace" at the age of 55. (bio by: John "J-Cat" Griffith)
