Catharine was born in Maidenhead Twp., old Hunterdon Co., NJ (now Lawrence Twp., Mercer Co.). She married Theodore Pierson on 2 Feb. 1833 in Pennington, old Hunterdon (now Mercer) Co. They had 6 children together, all of whom are linked below.

After her husband's death, she was appointed legal guardian of her children in 1853. She was living with her son George in Lawrence Twp., in 1880, but was living with her son Joseph in the village (now borough) of Hopewell when she died in her 79th year. Her funeral was held both in Hopewell and Lawrence.
