LORAIN — Barbara M. Kozar (nee Furjanic), 91, of Lorain, died Saturday June 26, 2010 at Autumn Aegis Nursing Home in Lorain after a long illness.
She was born on April 26, 1919 in Lorain and had been a lifelong Lorain area resident.
Barbara was a member of St. Vitus Catholic Church in Lorain, St. Teresa's Guild of the church and the Croatian Catholic Union.
For many years Barbara bowled in leagues at the Croatian Club in Lorain. She enjoyed cooking, baking and spending time with her grandchildren and attending their activities.
She is survived by her son Jerry Kozar (Lynda) of Lorain and grandchildren John Hunyad (Pam), David Hunyad, Barabara Ann Csalos and Jared Kozar, all of Lorain. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years Stephen A. "Peppy" Kozar in 2002, daughter Barbara Jean Hunyad in 1993, parents Blaz and Magdeline Furjanic (nee Chalovich) and sisters Katherine Kobasic, Mary Furjanic, Dianne Furjanic and Hilda Jakubec.
The family will receive friends Monday 2-4, 6-8 pm at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 9:30 am in the funeral chapel followed by the mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 41295 N. Ridge Rd., Elyria Twp.
Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
