In 1940, she met and married actor William Powell, with whom she remained with for the rest of her life. Before retiring from performing in 1943, her most notable films included "It's a Gift" (1934), "Gold Diggers in Paris" (1938), "Go West" (1940), "Andy Hardy Meets Debutante" (1940) and "Johnny Eager" (1942).
