Two of Marion Anderson's children were laid to rest in our graveyard last week. One a baby who had brain fever, the other a little girl of eleven who had pneumonia after measles. Our sympathy is extended to the bereaved parents. "Suffer little children to come unto me for of such is the Kingdom of Heaven."
Obituary
The death Angel entered the home of Marion Anderson our merchant at Cold Springs and took two of his children in the course of 24 hours. On the morning of Feb. 22 little Oscar aged one year and eleven days died with brain fever and measles and the next morning at about the same hour Gertie, aged 13 the day before, died. Both were buried in the Denlow cemetery. Much sympathy is extended to the bereaved parents in this double sorrow. We will all miss the little winsome face of Oscar who could just toddle around, and of dear patient Gertie. But God needed them and called them home and hearts are left aching below. They are not dead but only sleeping and we will meet them again above.
By Gertie's teacher.
Daughter of Marion Anderson born in Pike County, Mo and Nettie Mears born in Douglas county, MO. they informed J.J. Smallwood.
Burial; Feb. 22, 1910
