Imogene Lowery, 89, of McLeansboro, passed away at 5:50 p.m. Thursday, June 24, 2010, at White Oaks Rehabilitation Center in Mt. Vernon.
She was born Sept. 10, 1920, a daughter of Ernie and Nona (Goin) Rawls. She married Cotton Lowery on Feb. 14, 1940, and he preceded her in death on Feb. 26, 1993. She was a seamstress for the Decatur Garmet Company.
Mrs. Lowery was a member of the First Baptist Church of McLeansboro. She loved her church and sewing.
She loved playing with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro with the Rev. Mark Byers officiating. Burial will follow at IOOF Cemetery in McLeansboro.
Visitation will be from 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Lowery is survived by one daughter, Judy Malle and husband Joe of Mt. Vernon; nine grandchildren, Heather Watkins of Troy, Kim Boyd of Evanston, Carl Pendell and wife Geri of Chester, Va., Nancy Yesley and husband Richard of New Athens, Charlie Pendell of McLeansboro, Steve Huggins and wife Pam of Branson, Mo., Debbie Campbell and husband Gary of McLeansboro, Denita Reed and husband Bill of McLeansboro and Greg Huggins and wife Robin of McLeansboro; 14 great-grandchildren; and 21 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two daughters, Helen Adams and Maxine Pendell; one sister, Helen Moser; one brother, Wilburn Rawls; and one son-in-law, Carl Albert Pendell.
