Born Sept. 14, 1827, son of Robert Lucas Plasket (1782-1863) and Barbara Bottorff (1797-1873); known siblings: Joseph (1813-1839), Eliza (b. 1814), Louisa J. (d. 1854), Robert L., Jr. (1822-1850), Samuel M., and Martha; married Miss Mary Ann Auspin (1828-1906) on Feb. 16, 1850 in Clark Co., IN; known children: Elizabeth (b. @1851), Harriet (b. 1853), Martha Jane (1855-1878), Viola F. (1856-1861), Samuel L. (1858-1904), William Warren (b. @1860), Louisa F. (1864-1883), and Amanda A. (1866-1891); resided in Polk Run, Owen Twp., Clark Co., IN in 1860; age 33 at time of enlistment in Co. F, 38th Indiana Infantry; enlisted as 4th SGT in 1861; applied for a federal pension on June 15, 1876 (app. #221,121; cert. #533,352); lived in Slater City, Saline Co., MO at the time of the 1900 & 1910 U.S. Censuses; died after an accidental fall on June 16, 1911 in Slater City, MO at age 88

Both parents, siblings Louisa J., Joseph, and Robert L., and daughter Viola (1856-1861) are all buried in Shiloh Cemetery, Hibernia, Clark Co., IN
